The short terms.
These terms cover your use of Pencil (trypencil.app). By creating an account or booking through a Pencil page you agree to them. They're short on purpose; the privacy page covers your data.
Your account
You sign in with a link sent to your email, so keep that inbox secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account, for your booking page's content, and for honouring the meetings people book with you.
Fair use
- Don't use Pencil to send spam, to collect data under false pretences, or to impersonate anyone.
- Don't try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service.
- Only ask people who book for information you actually need.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules, and we'll tell you why unless the law stops us.
Plans and billing
Free costs nothing. Pro is £8 a month and Team is £15 per seat a month, billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Subscriptions renew each month until you cancel from the billing page. When you cancel, you keep the paid plan until the end of the period you've paid for; we don't refund part months unless the law requires it. If a payment fails, Stripe retries for a while before the plan falls back to Free. We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email before any price change takes effect.
Availability
We work to keep Pencil running and your bookings safe, but it is provided as is. Email delivery depends on recipients' mail servers, so always treat your own calendar as the record. We aren't liable for missed meetings or indirect losses. Where our liability can't be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law.
Ending
You can stop using Pencil and ask us to delete your account at any time. We can end the service with 30 days' notice by email.
The rest
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If we change them in a way that matters, we'll email hosts before the change takes effect. Questions: hello@trypencil.app.
